We are seeking an exceptional leader to fill the role of ES Engineering Director for Governance & Process, reporting to the Engineering Operations & Capability (EOC) Director. As a key member of our Engineering Leadership team, you will be responsible for owning the strategy, execution, and financial performance of engineering product-development processes across our engineering community of 6,200+ engineers. In this role, you will partner with a broad engineering community, functional leaders, and subject-matter experts to drive and implement engineering product development processes and measurable adoption of best-in-class development methods. You will play a critical role in our organization's transformation to digital-engineering practices, transitioning to digitally native tools, and ensuring compliance with audit and quality standards. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Process Leadership: Establish and deploy processes that are in alignment with Enterprise-level processes and adopted standards. Lead engineering process modernization initiatives, prioritize and execute process improvements, and drive towards a single enterprise-level engineering process set.
- Audit and Compliance: Oversee internal and external audits (CMMI, AS9100D, customer audits), partner with Quality to plan and resource audits, and ensure readiness and compliance with internal and external regulatory standards.
- Digital Transformation: Lead the Accelerated Digital Engineering Lifecycle (ADEL) initiative, drive digital engineering adoption
- Metrics and Reporting: Ensure uniform collection, automation, and reporting of ES Engineering metrics, facilitate quarterly CARB and QBR reporting, and leverage best practices across BAE Systems. Enable metrics-driven decision making through uniform collection, automation, and reporting of ES Engineering metrics.
- Lifecycle Management: Oversee Lifecycle Management (LCM) review processes, metrics, analysis, tool support, training material, and stakeholder communications.
- Governance and Assurance: Manage the Engineering Operational Assurance Statement, support Material Controls assessments and responses, and ensure compliance with plc and Inc. policy and governance efforts.
- Culture and Talent Development: Champion a culture of innovation, performance excellence, engineering rigor, and mission commitment, and mentor, train, and develop engineering talent at all levels.
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely. It requires infrequent travel to other BAE Systems facilities.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills - Recent engineering leadership experience on large product development programs. Demonstrated understanding of systems‑engineering, product‑development, and lifecycle management principles
- In-depth experience across the engineering lifecycle (i.e. requirements analysis, architecture design/development, integration, verification, sell-off, security accreditation, and maintenance)
- Experience supporting development of complex technical systems and the transition to manufacturing, engineering initiatives, and agile process application.
- Knowledge of Aerospace Industry Standards and Certifications such as AS9145, AS9100D, CMMI V2.0 and familiarity with quality systems
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral presentation skills for interfacing and coordinating with company personnel including senior leadership, cross functional partners, in the Quality, Project Management, Operations and Supply Chain organizations. Excellent communication, stakeholder‑management, and data‑driven reporting skills
- Proven track record of modernizing complex engineering processes and implementing digital‑engineering lifecycles.
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills - Willingness to travel (as needed) to BAE Systems facilities across the United States for audits, stakeholder engagements, and on‑site workshops.
- Knowledge and experience in product realization process implementation and tailoring
- Knowledge of ES Organizational Processes and Structures
- Knowledge and experience with digitaly native tools, ARAS Innovator, the BAE Systems Data Web Express, Generative AI and/or Stack AI workflows
Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $173023 - $294137

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
