Job Summary and Qualifications
Position Summary
The Senior Portfolio Governance & Standards Analyst supports the enterprise Clinical Care Informatics portfolio by developing, maintaining, and continuously improving the governance structures, standards libraries, process maps, playbooks, readiness tools, self-assessments, implementation templates, and sustainment documentation needed to drive consistent execution across assigned programs.
This role supports portfolio-level operating discipline by ensuring initiatives have clear standard work, documented ownership, defined checkpoints, phase-gate evidence, readiness expectations, decision records, and repeatable processes. The analyst leads process mapping efforts, creates governance and standards materials from scratch, identifies documentation and readiness gaps, and challenges incomplete or inconsistent standards to improve reliability, adoption, and sustainment.
Healthcare experience is not required. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in portfolio governance, PMO support, product operations, business process management, operational excellence, standards management, process mapping, documentation design, and cross-functional stakeholder alignment.
Role Scope
- Supports portfolio-level product and performance governance under the Director, Product & Performance.
- Owns and maintains standard libraries, governance artifacts, process maps, readiness tools, self-assessments, templates, playbooks, and sustainment documentation.
- Leads process mapping sessions and translates ambiguous or inconsistent workflows into clear standard work, roles, handoffs, decision points, and reusable guidance.
- Partners with consulting leads and operations stakeholders to ensure program materials are consistent, current, measurable, and ready for implementation and sustainment.
- Partners with the Senior Data Analytics Analyst, Data Monitoring & Performance to ensure adoption signals, scorecard trends, performance findings, and optimization triggers are reflected in updated standards and governance materials.
- Provides standards and documentation support across the portfolio.
- Does not own program delivery; provides the standards, controls, and governance documentation needed to manage the portfolio reliably.
Major Responsibilities
Portfolio Governance and Standards Management
- Develop, maintain, and organize enterprise standards libraries, governance artifacts, implementation toolkits, workflow documentation, audit tools, readiness checklists, and sustainment materials.
- Create governance materials and standard work packages from scratch where defined standards, templates, or repeatable processes do not yet exist.
- Support the Director, Product & Performance in product lifecycle governance, including intake, backlog, roadmap, phase-gate, definition-of-done, and sustainment expectations.
- Maintain standard templates for charters, decision logs, phase-gate evidence, go/no-go readiness, optimization briefs, release notes, and sustainment handoff documentation.
- Ensure assigned artifacts are current, version-controlled, field-ready, and aligned to approved enterprise standards and operating cadence.
- Identify documentation gaps, process variation, and standard work needs that may affect adoption, reliability, compliance, or sustainability.
Process Mapping, Standard Work, and Documentation Design
- Lead process mapping sessions with business, product, operations, informatics, IT, analytics, and other stakeholders to document current state, future state, roles, handoffs, dependencies, decision points, and controls.
- Translate requirements, decisions, lessons learned, workflow variations, and stakeholder input into clear SOPs, playbooks, checklists, guidance documents, and implementation materials.
- Identify reusable templates, standard work packages, playbook components, and process controls that improve consistency across programs.
- Document decisions, approvals, owners, dependencies, assumptions, risks, issues, and follow-up actions related to governance artifacts and standard work.
Portfolio Readiness, Self-Assessments, and Quality Support
- Support program teams in building readiness materials, checklist evidence, standards documentation, operational toolkits, and governance packets for leadership review.
- Partner with consulting leads to confirm required artifacts are complete before go/no-go phase gates, implementation milestones, optimization reviews, and sustainment handoffs.
- Create and maintain audit tools that support measurement of standard adherence, workflow reliability, implementation quality, and sustained adoption.
- Track artifact completion, open documentation actions, governance risks, and standards updates needed across assigned product areas.
- Support consistency across programs by identifying reusable templates, playbook components, and standard work packages.
Stakeholder Partnership and Communication
- Collaborate with clinical informatics, operational, product, IT/DT&I, facility, division, and corporate stakeholders to align documentation with workflow and operational needs.
- Translate requirements, decisions, and lessons learned into clear standards, checklists, guidance documents, and implementation materials.
- Support consulting leads and senior team members by organizing materials needed for program execution, optimization planning, executive review, and sustainment readiness.
- Document decisions, approvals, owners, dependencies, and follow-up actions related to governance artifacts and standard work.
- Provide concise status updates on standards readiness, documentation gaps, artifact completion, and actions requiring escalation.
Continuous Improvement and Performance Alignment
- Partner with the Senior Informatics Analyst - Data Monitoring & Analytics to align scorecards, thresholds, optimization triggers, audit findings, and standards updates.
- Incorporate performance findings, adoption signals, user feedback, and lessons learned into updated playbooks, toolkits, and governance artifacts.
- Support optimization documentation requirements so improvement actions are tracked, measured, and reflected in future standards.
- Maintain proficiency in Microsoft products, collaboration tools, document management methods, and workflow/process mapping approaches used by the team.
- Demonstrate ongoing commitment to clinical informatics, standardization, governance discipline, performance improvement, and operational excellence.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Operations Management, Organizational Development, Industrial Engineering, Informatics, Analytics, Public Administration, or a related field Required
- Master's degree in Business, Information Systems, Operations Management, Organizational Development, Industrial Engineering, Informatics, Analytics, Public Administration, or a related field Preferred
- 5+ years experience in portfolio governance, program governance, PMO support, product operations, business process management, process improvement, operational excellence, quality management, standards management, change enablement, or enterprise documentation Required
- Experience supporting enterprise programs, clinical technology initiatives, product lifecycle governance, or healthcare performance reporting Preferred
- Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Licenses, Certifications, & Training
Certification in project management, process improvement, change management, business analysis, quality management, product operations, informatics, or related domain Preferred
