Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Reliable, Maintainable, and delivered on time. Life Cycle Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices, and our customers. Our Life Cycle Engineering disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. This job is ONSITE based at Raytheon’s Richardson, Texas or Dulles, Virginia facility.
What You Will Do:
- As a Reliability, Maintainability &Testability (RM&T) Engineer, your responsibilities will include the following:
- Lead or conduct LCE activities through multiple program phases, proposal, development, and production
- Analyze preliminary plans and develop RM&T engineering programs to achieve company, customer and governmental agency reliability and maintainability objectives
- Develop, coordinate, and conduct technical RM&T studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts
- Develop RM&T analyses including
- Mean Time Between Failure predictions in accordance with MIL-HDBK-217
- Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) predictions in accordance with MIL-HDBK-470
- Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) in accordance with MIL-HDBK-1629
- Built-in-Test (BIT) / Testability Analysis in accordance with MIL-HDBK-2165
- Human Factors “Design for Maintainer” Assessment in accordance with MIL-HDBK-1472
- Perform Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations to implement continuous reliability improvement as part of closed-loop Failure Reporting and Corrective Action (FRACA) process
- Generate formal, customer-deliverable RM&T report documentation
- Conduct reliability growth testing
- Communicate, both written and orally, to include but not limited to program management, proposal management, and customers, and represent WLE in technical meetings and program reviews
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically Requires a bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 5 years of relevant experience conducting RCCA investigations to identify root cause, implement corrective action, and monitor to verify improvement
- Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA)
- Analytical techniques to estimate Fault Detection, Fault Isolation, and/or False Alarm rates
- Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:

Active TS/SCI

LCE disciplines including system safety, human systems integration (HSI), logistics, technical publications, training, and/or affordability

Working across multiple disciplines and organizational levels

Presenting data to internal or external customers

Product testing and troubleshooting in the factory/depot or field environment

RM&T analysis tools (e.g., Reliasoft Tool Suite, DSI eXpress, or Windchill)

Interpreting interfaces between hardware and software

Working with software/firmware development and implementation

Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and/or Digital Engineering experience

Earned Value Management activities to manage budget/schedule performance
-
RM&T cost estimates and technical analyses in support of proposals

Experience working in the DoD customer community (US Army, US Air Force, US Navy)

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
