Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
The candidate will support the Halifax Class Combat Systems Integration (CSI) In Service Support (ISS) program and will be called to work at Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Stadacona in Halifax once the necessary security clearances have been granted by the Government of Canada (CANADA). They will function within a multi-disciplined team environment and perform engineering tasks spanning the complete life cycle of the systems from specification, design, development, integration & test, deployment, maintenance and field troubleshooting.
The candidate will participate in engineering activities including but not limited to:
- Act as the day to day steward of the IBM Rational Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) repository: create and modify requirement modules, apply attribute sets, run query based reports, and enforce version control best practices
- Capture the linkages between requirements, design, and test artifacts—maintaining full traceability from inception to product release
- Work with test, engineering, software and quality teams to refine DOORS workflows and templates, ensuring alignment with global release & compliance objectives
