Sterile Processing Technician - SPD
Shift: PRN - Seasonal
Rate: $35/hourly
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
- All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period
- Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need
- Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4-week schedule period
- During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee)
- Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital
- Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses (D1/CND or D2/ECD)
- Current FT/PT & PRN employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for 2026--27 with the exception of RNs that participated in the Seasonal program in the previous year
- Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program
- Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department

Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care by making sure every instrument is thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready when needed. Your focus on safety and attention to detail helps protect patients and empowers a team that’s committed to the care and improvement of human life – one surgery at a time.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
- Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care
- Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs
- Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized
- Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries
What qualifications you will need:
- (CSPDT) Cert Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician
- 1 years' experience Required
