Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an experienced RF Engineer to join our team in Littleton, CO!
In this role, you will support the Global Positioning System (GPS) III/IIIF by performing payload integration and testing on world class RF Payloads. This role will work closely with other leaders and Subject Matter Experts to ensure the GPS III/IIIF program is successful. The selected candidate will also work closely with customers and program leadership to ensure the success of payload products and milestones. Example assignments include test procedure checkout on development hardware/software, system testing on flight vehicle, characterization testing of complex payload products, calibration, risk/opportunity assessments, and support to proposal efforts.
In this role you will also contribute to the design and development of high reliability RF components, subsystems, and payloads for Space and missile platforms. You may perform requirements analysis and decomposition, develop specifications, perform architectural and product trade analyses, execute detailed implementation, validate performance, and certify a deliverable product. You may also support proposals and new business opportunities.

Standard Job Description:
Architects and designs Radio Frequency systems and circuitry. Designs and develops RF circuitry used in high frequency and microwave applications, including receivers, transmitters, antennas, and frequency synthesizers. Responsible for hardware layout, component evaluation, prototype construction, and test. Prepares test methods and specifications; analyzes and tests RF hardware to verify performance characteristics. Provides inputs to Product Development for formal documentation and supports manufacturing during the deliverable assembly and test phase. In addition, develops RF System/Subsystem Architectures consisting of: antennas, transmitters, receivers, low noise amplifiers, high power amplifiers, RF conversion elements and transmission line equipment. Performs link analysis and optimization, including effects of propagation medium and possible interference sources. Develops and allocates RF system and subsystem functional and performance requirements. Identifies and tracks RF technical performance measurements (TPMs). Performs RF system/subsystem/component trade studies and CAIV analysis. Supports Life Cycle Costs, reliability, availability, and maintainability analysis.
Basic Qualifications
To be considered for this position, applicants must possess all of the below skills/experiences:
• Knowledge of hardware deliverables (e.g., test, handling, data reviews)
• Knowledge of RF/microwave, electromagnetics, and/or signal processing
• Experience working with RF test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and/or arbitrary waveform generators
Security Clearance / Work Authorization:
• To meet requirements of the program/customer, this position requires the selected employee to be a U.S. Citizen.
• Selected candidates will be required to obtain, and maintain, a Secret clearance for long term employment on this program.
Desired Skills
• Experience developing and analyzing technical requirements, performing trade studies, and/or allocating functions down to subsystems or components
• Ability to support programs from new business to delivery including proposal support, concept development, and post-delivery technical support
• Ability to support program gates such as the Systems Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), while leading technical development
• A team player with the demonstrated ability to participate in cross functional teams and communicate and coordinate work as one team with common goals
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with management, and peers
• Experience interfacing with customer representatives and higher-level leadership
• Experience with procurement and management of supplier developed hardware to include collaboration with enterprise subcontract management teams
• Experience with certifying and selling off an RF payload or subsystem to the customer
• Experience in technical management of subcontractors delivering RF hardware
• Experience as Certified Principal Engineer (CPE), Responsible System Engineer (RSE), or industry equivalent
• Familiarity with concepts of GPS and enabling technologies
• Knowledge and experience in adjacent technical disciplines (electrical systems, mechanical engineering, flight sciences)
• Previous experience with government customers and supporting organizations
• Demonstrated technical depth in RF systems, RF electronics, or related engineering discipline
• Experienced with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Access (Google equivalents acceptable)
• Active DoD Secret clearance
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $110300.00 - $204900.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
