District Overview
Kiewit’s Northern California District is one of Kiewit’s leading infrastructure districts specializing in various types of work in the heavy civil, power, transportation, and water resource markets. Although most of our work is regionally based in Northern California, we also pursue various projects across the west coast. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about infrastructure and committed to the construction industry and seek a long-term career.
Responsibilities
- Perform testing of asphalt and aggregate materials for conformance to requirements.
- Develop a thorough understanding of various testing procedures for construction materials.
- Report test results to management and recognize failing materials immediately.
- Ability to understand asphalt and aggregate property relationships.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of materials' testing within the construction industry.
- If a candidate does not have one or more of the above certifications, training will be provided for the ideal candidate.
- Ability to gain additional certifications to support project testing and inspection as needed.
- Experience in a fast-paced asphalt and/or aggregate production laboratory is preferred, but not required.
- Capability to work construction hours during high seasons.
- Self-starter with exceptional organization and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- The ability to accomplish goals successfully both independently and while working as a team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
