This role is for an experienced Mission Planning Environment Administrator providing Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) support at Komatsu air base in Japan.
The Mission Planning Environment Administrator directly supports JSF operations by assuring the integrity and availability of the applications and servers on the system. The successful candidate will be the main interface between the Mission Planning Environment system and the Pilots and maintainers supporting the F-35.
This is an operational support role to an active fighter unit, so the selected candidate may be required to work at deployed locations, support rotating shifts, and work over 40 hours per week—which may include weekends—as dictated by mission requirements.
This role is in support of the Japan Air Self Defense Force (JASDF) that will be based in Komatsu, Japan. We are seeking an experienced Mission Planning Environment (MPE) administrator who has some knowledge of system administration to work on the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Mission Support Kit (MSK) server equipment and accessories. The successful candidate will be required to train JASDF administrators as well as pilots on how to effectively operate and maintain mission planning software and equipment.
• NOTE THAT THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE OCCASIONAL DEPLOYMENT WITH THE JAPAN AIR SELF DEFENSE FORCE
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Interacting daily with users and ALIS/LM leadership
Support pilots in Mission Planning/Debriefing and identify/resolve system shortfalls
Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) installation and data updates
Support, administer, and monitor associated hardware/software and pilot accounts
Maintaining smooth, secure operation of multi-user computer systems through coordination with peers, Tier2 support and engineers
Backups, restores, and disaster recovery of systems/databases/network equipment
Reviewing processes/procedures, collect system operational data for analysis
A level 4 employee typically has 9 - 12 years of professional experience related to aviation or information technology industry.
