Job Description The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers’ missions. What You’ll Do: - Apply knowledge and skills on non-routine projects.
- Contribute to the completion of project milestones.
- Reviewed work with project technical leads.
- Interact with colleagues at any level.
- Assist in preparing presentations and documents.
- Rapid prototyping of research and development (R&D) algorithms including (but not limited to): image processing, signal processing, computer vision, fusion, detection, tracking, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and object characterization.
- Automation of algorithms to support batch processing and near-real-time processing of multiple intelligence sources including: imagery, video, time-series signals, detection, and tracking products.
- Develop novel algorithms based on customer needs, project requirements, journal article descriptions, and team brainstorming sessions.
- Analyze algorithm performance and communicate performance metrics to peers, task leads, and customers.
- Document research through technical reports, algorithm description documentation, and briefings.
- Collaborate in an R&D team environment.
- Develop, optimize, test, evaluate, and integrate scientific algorithms using high-level computing languages (typically Python, MATLAB).Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions: - Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
- May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
- May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills - BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 2 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., master’s degree and/or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- A current, active Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- EO/IR, multi-spectral, and/or radar sensor phenomenology.
- Spatial and temporal signal processing algorithms for Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination
- Characterization of remote sensing sensors and the impact on target detection and classification.
- Algorithm development, testing, and evaluation..
- System performance modeling.
- Collection planning and analytic tools.
- Rigorous statistical methods and analysis to ensure findings are complete and accurate.
- High-level computing languages (typically Python, MATLAB).
- Independently determine and develop solutions and approaches.
- Interact with customers and colleagues outside immediate group.
- Provide technical leadership to more junior colleagues.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Assist in preparing presentations and documents.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $79365 - $134921

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
