Lockheed Martin is seeking a dedicated Systems Engineer to support the Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) Extremely High Frequency (EHF) systems, Combined Orbital Operations Logistics Resiliency (COOLR) sustainment program.
In this role, the Systems Engineer will maintain the accuracy and traceability of space‑system baselines, manage the IBM Rational DOORS repository, and coordinate changes with Agile teams. Responsibilities also include supporting release planning, contributing to process‑improvement and digital‑transformation initiatives, ensuring that our space assets remain reliable and mission‑ready.
As a member of the COOLR SE&I Baseline Control Management team, you will:
- Serve as the day‑to‑day steward for the IBM Rational DOORS repository for COOLR while training to become its future system administrator. In this role: create and modify requirement modules, enforce version‑control best practices, and manage the DOORS database to update requirements in accordance with the baseline change‑control process.
- Become cognizant of all aspects of baseline control, including issue coordination, operational release content and planning, schedules and interdependencies, ensuring release meets operational change process requirements.
- Provide systems‑engineering support to the designated release owner, facilitating change activities, coordinating across Agile Teams, and assisting with issue resolution and release planning. Coordinate with SMEs, customer stakeholders and develop a technical understanding of change requests in relation to the issue and cross-domain impacts.
- Provide day‑to‑day support to the SE&I Product Owner - maintain Jira Kanban/Hive, generate reports and metrics, align Agile team linkages, and help facilitate recurring meeting agendas, data products, and workflow.
- Support process improvement and Digital Transformation initiatives.
- Write and maintain program processing procedures.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.
Basic Qualifications
- Possess Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with five years of professional experience
- Knowledge and hands-on experience of IBM Rational DOORS
- Active and current Secret Clearance required. Thus US Citizenship is required
Desired Skills
- Experience with Agile and tools such as Jira & Confluence
- Knowledge of Windchill
- Excellent written and verbal communication; proven ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear, actionable documentation
- Strong grasp of requirements engineering fundamentals (traceability, change control)
- Experience in an systems engineering role focused on Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and Ground Systems.
- Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $88100.00 - $163700.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
