What You'll Do
As a School Registered Nurse (RN), you will:
- Provide nursing care and health services to students during the school day
- Assess and respond to student illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and school protocols
- Monitor and support students with chronic health conditions, including asthma, diabetes, seizures, and other medical needs
- Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans
- Maintain accurate health records and nursing documentation
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, healthcare providers, and administrators
- Promote student wellness through education and preventive health practices
- Ensure compliance with school health policies and state regulations
- Advocate for student health and safety to support academic success
Qualifications
- Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Current BLS/CPR Certification
- Minimum one year of nursing experience preferred
- Previous school nursing, pediatric, homecare, community health, emergency department, or acute care experience is a plus
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a school environment
- Experience working with children and adolescents preferred
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
