Job Summary and Qualifications
*1 Performs continuous observation of EMU (Epileptic Monitor Unit) patient/s; adds comments as needed; skilled and knowledgeable of video monitoring system and camera controls; sets up equipment before testing according to department policy
*2 Performs minor adjustment of electrodes if EEG tech not available; disconnect patient/s according to department policy; cleans and restocks EMU equipment according to department policy
*3 Facilitates workflow of department with a variety of skills such as burning CDs, cleaning other equipment, follows up to Physician Reports and other office skills
*4 Restocks work areas of Neurodiagnostic Department with necessary supplies and notifies when supplies need to be ordered. Keeps work areas clean and orderly to promote patient safety.
*5 Entry level PC or Microsoft Windows knowledge
*6 Take and document vital signs
*7 Assist patients with ADLs and toileting
*8 Perform Seizure assessment protocol
*9 BLS Certification
*THOSE SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS WITH AND (*) ARE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS CONSIDERED NECESSARY TO ACCOMPLISH THIS JOB.
What qualifications you will need:
EDUCATION:
Required - High school graduate/GED
Preferred - Associate Degree
Required: American Epilepsy Society: EMU Caring Modules (within first 6 months)
Required: Nihon Khoden: Basic EEG Acquisition and Review (within first 6 months)
EXPERIENCE:
Required - 12 months experience in medical settings
Preferred - 12 months experience in Neurodiagnostic settings
