Designs, develops, implements, verifies and tests algorithms to perform guidance, navigation and control of aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles and upper stages during powered and coast phases of flight, earth orbit, interplanetary cruise and orbital insertion, as well as during staging events. Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality. Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations and control laws to achieve a desired position in space. Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control requirements for aircraft, launch vehicles and/or spacecraft.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) System Architect and Algorithm developer who will perform technical execution scope associated with flight vehicle control system design, algorithm development, software integration, sensor system modeling & analysis, performance analysis, hardware integrated testing, and weapons system verification within the Theater Strike Weapon Systems (TSWS) and Strategic Missile Defense (SMD) portfolios. Anchored by the Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) program, the portfolio is undergoing rapid growth associated with multiple product lifecycle phases within CPS and several related Advanced development program efforts.
In this role, you should anticipate:
• Working on advanced missile control system architecture, design, integration, testing, and analysis within hypersonic weapon system and other Advanced programs
• Leveraging past experience in weapon system and missile system/subsystem development and analysis to shape current and future program execution
• Collaborating with program managers, systems and software engineering or engineering leaders to delivery component(s)/subsystem(s), designs, and analysis to programs
• Provides programmatic direction to engineering staff and team(s), collaborates on execution, analysis, design/peer reviews
• Applying proficiency in C++ and MATLAB to develop, verify, validate, and perform analysis, review analysis artifacts of others, assess data products, and delivery technical summary briefings
• Communicating technical results effectively and working collaboratively across teams, working groups, review boards, and technical execution teams
