Job Summary and Qualifications
What you will do in this role:
- You will greet patients and instruct them in proper specimen collection methods.
- You will draw blood specimens from patients by using finger sticks, heel sticks or venipunctures and collect other specimens as required.
- You will label specimens for identification purposes accurately and enter specimen data into the computer.
- You will prepare samples for microbiology, hematology, serology, blood bank, and urinalysis departments.
- You will assist with clerical duties by answering telephone calls.
What Qualifications Will You Need:
- Graduate of Phlebotomy Course/Program required.
- Phlebotomy certification highly preferred.
- One year of experience needed for interview consideration.
- MINIMUM 7 sticks per hour.
- Must have open availability for weekends for PRN.
- Hospital experience is highly desired and needed.
- Larger facility experience highly desirable to keep up with flow.
- Looking for trainable candidates with good experience and the ability to work as a team.
- Six months computer keyboarding or equivalent preferred.
