Title:
Senior Operations Engineer
KBR is seeking an experienced Senior SSA Operations Engineer with exquisite SSA operations experience to include operational SSA mission execution, data gathering, analysis, and sensor data anomaly resolution techniques and procedures. Successful applicants will have had direct sensor support experience on an operations floor, with deep technical understanding of SSA and SDA mission planning in support of protect and defend missions. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Injects SSA domain expertise to Systems Engineering processes to include but not limited to SSA mission planning criteria for execution, sensor mission requirements definition, and modeling and simulation required for TTP development and modification.
- Provides expert advice to the program manager on technical analysis and design considerations for SSA/SDA architectures as they pertain and impact mission success for SSA operational execution.
- Develops agent-based models and scenarios to simulate system performance and Design Reference Missions (DRMs) for SSA/SDA mission set impacting protect and defend scenarios.
- Identifies and adopts innovative approaches of AI/ML algorithms for sensor calibration and sensor orchestration mission planning and tasking.
- Conducts detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies for improving the traditional SSN architecture, optimizing anomaly resolution, and exercises validation and verification of SSA data that is collected.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in related engineering discipline (space physics, orbital mechanics) with over 12 years of experience between operational SSA mission planning and DoD agile acquisition programs
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Extensive experience in mission planning for SDA at all levels (strategic, operational, tactical) and application to sensor orchestration in support of protect and defend mission set.
- Proficient and knowledgeable of commercial sensors and familiarization of technical insertion opportunities to the Government SSA architecture.
- Expert with modeling and simulation analysis platforms including MATLAB, AGI Systems Tool Kit, Simulink.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills

This salary target range is if for the Colorado area
$150,000……………$175,000
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation.
