The Accountant ensures compliance with financial reporting and other standard accounting practices. The Accountant is responsible for the management and reporting of financial data, ensuring accuracy, identifying areas of potential risk or opportunity, and providing business solutions. The Accountant strengthens communications and working relationships with project teams and partners, while demonstrating effective interpersonal influencing skills, and working both independently and on teams. A thorough knowledge of regulations is fundamental, and timely and accurate reporting is critical to success. The
Accountant has a desire to contribute to business operations' success, recognize and solve business problems, and earn the trust of the business team.
Duties: This Accountant performs the following core functions:
- Perform accounting services for business units
- Produce work papers to support financial statements and tax reporting
- Create memos for internal oversight groups and senior management summarizing work product Identify and document unusual business operations and events
- Perform as a project team's "internal CFO"
- Use knowledge of domestic and international tax law to prepare business unit payroll and tax forms Use knowledge of domestic and international accounting practices to provide informed communication with oversight bodies
- Use knowledge of budget formulation to support project reporting and management of rolling expenditure forecasts
- Provide advice on internal controls, corporate structures, and capital flows
- Develop and foster professional relationships with other accountants and corporate business partners Demonstrate the following:
- Inclination to take the initiative in daily work o Ability to work independently as well as part of an integrated project team o Excellent communication skills o Effective interpersonal skills, with a talent to influence those who are not direct reports o Motivation to find creative solutions
- Maintain appropriate training to ensure skills and tradecraft are kept current with evolving technology
- Perform other duties as assigned at the direction of Project Management
Core Hours: IOAM-3PM
Travel: Domestic travel but not frequent
