Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.
What you will do in this role:
- Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents patient care and discharge using an interdisciplinary approach, while continuously monitoring conditions and reactions to treatments.
- Administers medications safely and accurately, carries out physician orders, and strictly adheres to laws, regulations, and hospital policies regarding controlled substances.
- Assists physicians with examinations, tests, and procedures using appropriate infection control techniques and universal precautions while maintaining unit-based and age-appropriate competencies.
- Plans and coordinates patient/family teaching, respects patient privacy and confidentiality, and honors their cultural, psychosocial, and spiritual values.
- Complies with hospital policies, completes annual Code of Conduct training, and acts with honesty, integrity, and fairness in alignment with the Mission & Values Statement.
- Participates in performance improvement activities, communicates status changes through the established chain of command, and promotes teamwork to support quality patient care.
What qualifications you will need:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- (RN) Registered Nurse with an active license in the state of Texas or multistate license including Texas
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, Associate Degree minimum requirement
- Oncology and/or Chemotherapy certification is preferred
- 1 year of clinical experience as a licensed RN in an acute care setting.
