Job Summary and Qualifications
The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. What you will do in this role:
- Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
- Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
What qualifications you will need:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- (RN) Registered Nurse 6 Months minimum experience as a Licensed RN
- Registered Nurse Diploma, or Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
Our Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) offers
35 bed cardiovascular stepdown unit.
- We specialize in advanced heart failure, heart transplants, specialized cardiac surgeries such as TAVRs, and LVAD patients. We work very closely with CVICU because our patient population goes back and forth between us and CVICU.
- The nurse to patient ratio is 1:4
- What sets us apart from other progressive care or cardiac units is that we have a very specialized cardiac population. If you enjoy complex cardiac cases that involve IV cardiac drips and critical thinking this is the unit. We have an amazing team with many years of experience.
- The culture on the unit is very positive and the staff treat each other like family. They are always planning off-site get togethers for team building.
