The Work
As a Cyber Systems Security Engineer, you will join a Cyber Engineering team that is building new security architectures across a very large and critical System-of-Systems. You’ll drive the development and integration of modern cyber solutions that protect and empower critical Department of Defense (DoD) assets.
Key responsibilities include
Provide Cyber engineering expertise to support diverse technical assignments, technical reviews, and new architecture efforts
Research new technology with technical expertise to understand Cyber value and risk to product engineering and integration
Collaborate across teams on secure system and network design that balances mission goals and cyber protection
Design, develop, and integrate secure Cyber solutions and processes for Linux environments
Perform and review security assessments, to ensure Cyber best practices are properly evaluated and communicated to stakeholders
Take ownership of technical assignments and drive them through the agile process, to create actionable engineering tasks for inclusion in software baselines

Basic Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related engineering field; or equivalent in experience
Experience with Linux systems and large system development
Experience with basic networking switch/router/firewall/IDS concepts
Experience developing Cyber Security Solutions (in any form) as a team
Experience in researching Cybersecurity capabilities, performing trade studies, and providing expertise to peers and leadership
Experience in scripting for prototyping and automation (bash, python)
Desired Skills
Cloud experience such as Kubernetes, microservice, and containers (experience in On-Prem Kubernetes is highly valued)
Proficiency with Cyber best practice security concepts, models, and methods, (e.g., zero trust architecture and maturity model, advanced authentication methods)
Experience in network security and network-centric development concepts
Development experience in C/C++ and/or Rust
Experience leading technical meetings with strong communication skills while working effectively with internal team members and external stakeholders
Experience in agile methodologies and associated tools (Jira, Confluence)
Creative thinker with strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and a continuous learning mindset
Possess (or must obtain within 6 months of hiring) an approved DoD 8570 baseline certification for IAT Level II (Security+, GSEC, etc.)
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $110300.00 - $204900.00

- Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
