The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for engineering investigation, research, design, development and analysis of cab interior systems and components for Peterbilt's Low Cab Forward vehicle platforms in Denton, Texas.
This role focuses on delivering innovative interior solutions that enhance driver comfort, ergonomics, functionality, quality, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include the development of interior trim systems, instrument panels, center consoles, storage solutions, overhead components, display integrations, switches, bezels, interior plastics, and other cab interior assemblies.
The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams including Product Planning, Manufacturing, Vehicle Integration, Quality, Purchasing, Suppliers, PACCAR Technical Center, DAF, and other PACCAR divisions to develop interior systems from concept through production release.
Additional duties include providing engineering assistance, assembly / system design, root cause analysis, problem definition and resolution, training and other engineering duties supporting various aspects of expedited programs.
Additional tasks include completion of design for six sigma documentation in assigned phases of project, tracking costs and applying standard engineering techniques with minimal supervision, occasionally requiring independent evaluation.
Hiring level for this position will be dependent upon education and experience.
