Program Summary

Job Summary
As a Journeyman Electrician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality standards for electrical installations. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of various electrical equipment, support systems, and controls on commercial/industrial projects, including government initiatives. The role involves adherence to safety protocols, identification, and resolution of deficiencies, and proactive involvement in procurement processes.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Report to and receive assignments, instructions, and direction from the Master Electrician or Supervisor.
- Oversee Preventative Maintenance Schedules and work in coordination with the department leadership to provide oversight of electrical crews performing inspections and repairs on equipment to include instrumentation, inverter drives, DCS/SCADA, LV and HV motors, switchgear and control gear, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), AC and DC, variable speed drives and specialized control panels.
- Ensure the highest quality standards are met or exceeded in all installations.
- Maintain, repair, and replace or install a broad range of electrical equipment and systems in support of base construction and maintenance activities.
- Observe and follow all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment.
- Identify and repair deficiencies identified during the PMI / TI inspections.
- Complete records, maintain tools and equipment, and perform various clean-up and housekeeping activities.
- Responsible for identifying proper materials required for specific installations, submitting material requisitions through the procurement process, and following up with materials and/or logistics personnel until received.
- Continue professional development in electrical technologies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Requires a Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent certification from the U.S. or UK.
- Requires experience in both British and American standards.
- Must be familiar with BS7671 18th Edition and U.S. National Electric Code.
- Must be a familiar with Fluke Multi-Functional Testers used in BS7671 Testing and inspection.
- Must be knowledgeable with regards to electrical codes and EU standards.
- Must have experience in maintaining electrical distribution systems on commercial/industrial and government projects.
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and other diagrams.
- Must be proficient in the use of electrical diagnostic tools.
- Requires the ability to diagnose and repair electrical controls, industrial motor control centers, and programmable logic controllers.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces, lift heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds on a regular basis), and work at elevated heights.
- Requires a valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages.
Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- Familiarity with international electrical codes and best practices.
- Additional certifications related to electrical systems and controls.
- 2391 inspection and testing qualification.
- Experience and familiarity with the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
