Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a strategic and execution-focused Planner to support OCI’s End-of-Life (EOL) Monetization program. This role will help maximize value recovery from excess, obsolete, and decommissioned hardware while ensuring secure, compliant, and efficient disposition of OCI assets.
Reporting into the Product Lifecycle and EOL Monetization organization, this IC4 role will work across Supply Chain, Data Center Operations, Engineering, Security, Finance, Logistics, Procurement, and external recovery partners. The successful candidate will turn asset, inventory, demand, and recovery data into actionable disposition plans for new/never-used excess parts, data-bearing consumables, and decommissioned rack components.
This individual will support OCI’s phased Hybrid EOL strategy: using qualified external partners for resale, logistics, and recycling while helping build OCI-controlled processes for high-value, high-risk activities such as data sanitization and component decommissioning. The role requires strong analytical judgment, supply-chain execution experience, and the ability to coordinate complex work across a global, matrixed environment.
Internal Responsibilities
EOL Planning, Asset Segmentation & Recovery Strategy
Develop and maintain EOL recovery plans for excess inventory, cancelled orders, over-provisioned material, consumable components, and decommissioned rack hardware.
Analyze inventory and asset data to segment materials into the appropriate recovery path: reuse, resale, high-value component harvest, recycling, or scrap.
Evaluate recovery opportunities across high-value parts, including memory, SSDs, CPUs, NICs, power supplies, chassis, cabling, and other server and infrastructure components.
Partner with Supply Planning, Materials Execution, NPI, and Sustaining teams to identify EOL exposure early and reduce avoidable excess and obsolete inventory.
Support product-transition, stop/ship, purge, and end-of-life planning by defining material-disposition requirements, timing, ownership, and financial implications.
Assess recovery economics by part category, including expected resale value, recovery cost, processing effort, vendor share, logistics cost, and time to monetize.
Decommissioning, Sanitization & Chain-of-Custody Execution
Coordinate planning for decommissioned hardware from data center exit through disposition, including asset identification, handling requirements, decommissioning sequencing, and handoff to approved recovery channels.
Support secure processes for data-bearing components, particularly SSDs and other storage devices, by tracking sanitization, destruction, verification, and required documentation.
Maintain part- and lot-level visibility into asset status, chain of custody, sanitization completion, recovery pathway, and final disposition.
Partner with Security, Legal, Compliance, and Data Center Operations to ensure EOL processes meet OCI standards for data protection, auditability, export controls, and responsible recycling.
