Job Description As the Austin Business Center Director of Operations, you will be a key leadership contributor to the success of the Austin, Texas Manufacturing Hub. You will provide inspirational leadership within a rapidly growing business, driving excellence in manufacturing and supply chain performance to deliver high-quality products to our prime government customers. This role demands a strategic, results-oriented leader with a proven track record of building and scaling rapidly growing organizations.
Key Responsibilities.- Team Leadership: Lead the Operations Program Manager organization for the Austin Business Center – encompassing support for strategy, new product introduction, planning, staffing, budgeting, and manufacturing execution.
- Capacity & Facility Planning: Develop and maintain long-range plans for the utilization of manufacturing facilities, optimizing capacity and preparing for future growth.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the Austin Business Center Operations, leveraging Lean Manufacturing and other methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with Program Management, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Contracts, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment.
Essential Functions- Goal Setting & Performance Management: Establish departmental goals and objectives that directly support the business plan and track progress against key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure all operations adhere to the highest standards of quality, safety, and environmental regulations.
- New Product Introduction (NPI): Support the manufacturing aspects of new product introductions, ensuring seamless transition from design to production.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the department budget, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation.
- Talent Development & Succession Planning: Inspire, mentor, and develop staff, building a robust leadership succession pipeline to ensure continuity and growth.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and customers.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills - Bachelor's Degree and 7+ years work experience in Manufacturing or Supply Chain
- Executive presence with an ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
- Must have ability to lead and influence in a matrix environment
- Must be able to plan for production requirements and assess overall resource requirements to meet customers’ demands.
- Ability to think creatively and demonstrate exceptional organizational and management skills.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills - Masters Degree with experience leading Operations or Supply Chain teams in the Aerospace & Defense Industry
- Strategic and creative thinking with the ability to build business cases to positively influence business and functional direction
Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $153377 - $260743
