Summary
Join BlueSkye Automation to design and sell cutting edge automated warehouse systems. This role is built for proven engineers who thrive on variety. No two system problems look the same, so we need people who can think on their feet, work directly with automation OEMs, and land the right solution at the right time for the customer — not the easy one or the familiar one.
You'll own your projects end to end and move with urgency. BlueSkye Automation is growing rapidly and the engineers who join now will shape what it becomes. We're hiring high performers who want that.
Essential Functions below, other duties may be assigned.
Sales Support
- Partner with Account Managers to concept, design, and cost custom solutions across a diverse customer base
- Analyze customer data — throughput, SKU velocity, storage profiles, labor models — to drive design decisions
- Serve as the technical authority across multiple OEM platforms and determine the right integration methodology for each application
- Translate customer operational problems into a defensible technical scope and budgetary number
Design
- Own system requirements from PO through System Sign Off, ensuring the system performs as intended and meets customer specification
- Design, source, and document custom solutions
- Manage technical documentation: layout drawings, technical agreements, descriptions of operation, sequence of operations, acceptance criteria
- Manage customer stakeholders and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Project Engineering
- Operate with urgency. Understand cost and schedule constraints and how each one shapes technical execution
- Partner with Project Management on project financials, deliverables, and change orders
- Hold OEMs and vendors accountable to BlueSkye's design and quality standards
- Support commissioning, testing, and issue resolution through system acceptance
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work shoulder to shoulder with Sales, Project Management, Service, Operations, and OEM partners. This role sits at the center of those groups and only works if you're building trust across all of them
- Bring engineering discipline to the sales process without slowing it down, and bring commercial awareness to the engineering process
- Share what you learn. Feed lessons from installed systems back into how we design and quote the next one
- Step into gaps. On a growing team, the right answer is often "I've got it" rather than "that's not my scope"
