Job Summary
The Director, Innovation & Business Development will lead the incubation of new business concepts, products, partnerships, and monetization models that support the future growth of Xumo's FAST business. This role will operate at the intersection of strategy, product, technology, content, advertising, and partnerships to identify emerging opportunities, rapidly test market hypotheses, and turn promising innovations into scalable businesses.
The ideal candidate combines entrepreneurial thinking with disciplined execution and is comfortable navigating ambiguity, building business cases, and collaborating across multiple functions. This individual will serve as an innovation leader responsible for transforming ideas into measurable business outcomes.

Highly Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in strategy, innovation, corporate development, venture incubation, management consulting, product leadership, business development, or related fields.
- Experience in streaming media, FAST, connected TV, digital advertising, or media technology.
- Experience developing business cases, financial models, and commercialization strategies.
- Track record of launching new products, services, ventures, or growth initiatives.
- Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and executive presentation capabilities.
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives without direct authority.
- Experience operating in fast-paced, ambiguous, and rapidly evolving environments.
- Understanding of AI-driven products, audience engagement platforms, or advertising technology ecosystems

Responsibilities:
1. Innovation & Venture Development
- Identify and evaluate emerging business opportunities that can accelerate Xumo's FAST growth and competitive differentiation.
- Develop business cases, market assessments, and growth strategies for new products, services, and business models.
- Lead end-to-end incubation efforts from ideation through validation, MVP launch, and commercialization.
- Build and maintain a portfolio of innovation initiatives aligned with strategic company priorities.
2. FAST Industry Innovation
- Explore new opportunities across content experiences, advertising, AI, commerce, data products, audience engagement, and platform services.
- Identify disruptive trends and emerging technologies that can create competitive advantages for Xumo.
- Develop concepts that leverage Xumo's unique assets, including audience insights, viewing behaviors, platform capabilities, and distribution footprint.
- Partner closely with Engineering leaders and team members within the Innovation team to rapidly prototype, test, and validate innovative products, experiences and business concepts.
3. Strategic Partnerships
- Identify and develop relationships with startups, technology providers, content partners, and industry innovators.
- Evaluate build, buy, and partner strategies to accelerate business growth.
- Negotiate pilot programs and strategic collaborations to validate new business opportunities.
4. Commercialization & Growth
- Define success metrics, operating models, and go-to-market strategies for incubated businesses.
- Create financial models, investment recommendations, and growth forecasts.
- Present recommendations and progress updates to senior executives and company leadership.
- Transition validated opportunities into established business units or dedicated operating teams.
5. Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner closely with Engineering, Product, Business Intelligence, Content, Advertising, Business Operations, and Content Operations teams.
- Create alignment across stakeholders and drive execution in a highly collaborative environment.
- Foster a culture of experimentation, learning, and innovation across the organization.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Salary:
Pay Range: This job can be performed in California with a good faith estimated pay range upon hire of $173,187.13 - $230,916.17 USD.
Additional Range: This job can be performed in Colorado with a Pay Range of $165,657.26 - $259,780.70
