Title:
Field Engineer
The position for Lead Field Engineer is part of the technical services discipline in the construction group. Individual possesses supervisory/responsibility over junior technical staff members. Responsibilities include the liaison with engineering on construction issues, technical queries at the project site, participation in completions activities, and interfacing with client, vendor, and subcontractor representatives and supports the Technical Services Managers to successfully construct the facility.
Job Responsibilities
- Resolves job site technical issues encountered during execution of the project.
- Interprets drawings and specifications for job site queries.
- Generates RFI/NCR/PDN documents for the clarification, resolution, and documentation of potential/actual changes that occur to the design of the facility.
- Provides job site liaison with home office engineering personnel
- Oversees production of up-to-date record copy drawings (red lines)
- Provides guidance for junior technical staff members
- Prepares lists of drawings, specifications, and all other technical documents to be issued for subcontractor scope of works
- Supports the project construction planning, cost control and scheduling activities
- Assists Engineering, QA/QC, Commissioning/Start-up, & Client in defining the completion systems/subsystems
- Assists in the completion of systems turnovers by leading walkdowns, generating punchlists, etc.
- Establish and maintain effective relationship expectations of external and internal customers
- Other responsibilities may include training, developing, and appraising subordinates
- Participates in the implementation of the company's Safety Policy on the project site
Job Qualifications
- Associate's/Bachelor's degree in construction related field a plus, but not required if field experience is sufficient.
- A minimum of 15 years of field experience in industrial construction environment.
- Must have Field Engineering Experience in the construction of hydrocarbon facility - refining, petrochemical, or gas processing,
- Experience with LNG Facility Equipment a plus
- Experience with power generation and installation a plus
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Effective time management with ability to prioritize
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with external and internal customers
- Position is located on a green-field construction site.
- Ability to obtain a TWIC card
Project Overview
Our client, Venture Global is developing Plaquemines LNG Export Facility in Plaquemines Parrish, LA. The 632-acre site will have a capacity of 20 million metric tonnes per year. The design will include thirty-six liquefaction trains, configured in 18 blocks; six pre-treatment trains; three ship loading births for LNG vessels; four 200,00 cubic meter LNG storage tanks; two 720 MW combined cycle gas turbine power plants including additional 25 MW gas-fired aeroderivative turbines; a utility dock on the Mississippi River to handle waterborne deliveries of equipment and material; and two 42-inch diameter pipelines connected to existing interstate natural gas pipelines.
