We are hiring 7 Finance Interns to join our firm for the Summer of 2027. Below you will find a short description of the internship opportunities supporting various disciplines within our Finance organization. You will be immersed in a collaborative environment and an active participant in team discussions. Additionally, you will meet and network with Finance professionals across Schwab.
The Finance Summer internship is the primary pipeline for full-time opportunities into our 2-3 year Finance Specialist Rotational Program. At the conclusion of your internship, you will be considered for a full-time role participating in the Schwab Finance Specialist Development Program (FSDP). FSDP is a 24-36 month rotational program, beginning each summer, where you will have the opportunity to experience three 1-year rotations in three separate disciplines within Finance, providing a chance to explore Schwab, build strategic perspectives, and grow your network.
Enterprise Finance (Corporate FP&A)
Enterprise Finance teams provide analytical and decision support to various business segments and product lines across the organization. Through a combination of collaboration and strategic partnership with each business, our goal is to provide the financial insight and knowledge to our leadership teams, facilitating value adding decisions. Interns joining these teams will support focuses around forecasting, investment prioritization through business cases, financial reporting, performance scorecard/metrics, process improvement and ad-hoc analytics including theme development and trend discovery within month-end close activities.
Central Planning
The Central Planning finance team provides analytical and decision support to all of Schwab’s business lines by collaborating with each Finance team within Enterprise Finance. Our goal is to provide consolidated financial insights and knowledge to our executive leadership team, facilitating value adding decisions. The team support focuses on forecasting, investment prioritization, performance scorecard/metrics, ad-hoc analytics and reporting experience in support of corporate leadership.
Corporate Treasury Services
Corporate Treasury Services is made up of three closely connected operational teams: Treasury Services, Cash Management, and Settlement Services. Together, these teams support third-party banking relationships, short-term cash flows, intraday liquidity, proprietary trade settlements, collateral settlements, bank compensation analysis, credit management, reporting, and operational controls for The Charles Schwab Corporation, Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., and Charles Schwab Bank.
Treasury Securities Lending
We are seeking to add an intern to assist with Data Science and AI projects in support of Securities Lending. The role will focus on leveraging data, analytics and automation to improve trading decisions, risk management processes and create tools that support both operational efficiency and market insight.
The selected candidate will work on projects that apply Python, data visualization tools and predictive modeling techniques to the securities lending business. Example initiatives include developing dashboards to monitor utilization and market trends, building models to forecast loan demand or rebate rate changes, and exploring automation opportunities to support daily trading activity. Candidates should be pursuing a degree in a quantitative field and possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Familiarity with financial markets, particularly equities or fixed income, is a plus.
This internship provides direct exposure to Securities Lending Treasury, and capital markets functions, offering a unique perspective into how data and AI are applied to one of Schwab's businesses. The intern will gain hands-on experience with industry-standard tools, participate in daily business discussions and work alongside experienced traders and analysts.
Finance Risk Management
The Finance Risk Management (FRM) team’s mission is to design and implement a cohesive risk management strategy and framework across Finance to adequately identify and mitigate risks while driving innovation and business growth. FRM partners across the firm to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity by safeguarding financial flexibility to enable the company strategy.
What you have
Required Qualifications
- Be currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program
- Have enough credit hours to put you at a junior level status at a 4-year college or university
- Have not already completed your bachelor's degree
- Able to commit to working 40 hours a week for the 9 weeks of the internship dates of June 8, 2026 - August 7, 2026
- Able to start full-time employment during business hours between August 2026 - September 2027
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Earning a bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
- Experience or interest in financial technology (Python, SQL or data analytics)
- Curiosity to learn how to understand and apply financial reporting principles, regulatory requirements and transactional deliverables
- Optimism with keen sense of purpose, awareness, and knowledge
- Resourcefulness and flexibility, who enjoy working through cross-functional partnerships and collaboration to achieve a common purpose
- An innovative and questioning demeanor, who constantly look for better ways to do things, have a passion for service, and seek to exceed client expectations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with internal business partners
