At Lockheed Martin Rotary Mission Systems, we develop advanced technologies that support critical defense and aerospace missions. Our Owego, NY engineering teams deliver innovative Digital and RF solutions designed for demanding mission environments.

The Work

As a Senior Power Engineer, you’ll provide technical leadership for unit-level power systems supporting Digital and RF programs. You’ll design, analyze, troubleshoot, and integrate power solutions at the circuit card assembly (CCA) and unit levels.You will:Design power circuits, distribution, and conversion solutions for AC and DC inputs.Analyze and troubleshoot power distribution circuits and hardware.Decompose system-level requirements into hardware requirements for internal engineering teams and suppliers.Support root-cause analysis and provide engineering recommendations to resolve technical issues.Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.Develop power test procedures and support execution of power qualification testing.Prepare detailed test reports demonstrating compliance with applicable standards, including MIL-STD-704.Execute testing, analysis, and troubleshooting activities as required.Prepare technical presentations for program reviews and present technical results to customers.Collaborate with systems, hardware, RF, digital, manufacturing, suppliers, and other engineering disciplines.

This position is located Owego, NY and is fulltime onsite.

This position requires the ability to travel up to or less than 10%.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD government clearance at the Secret level.

You bring expertise in power distribution, power conversion, circuit analysis, and hardware troubleshooting, along with strong technical communication skills and the ability to mentor others.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, computer, or system engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 4 years or more of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related master’s degree.
Professional working knowledge of analog circuits.
Skilled in modeling circuit behavior using Spice tools.
Experience with component selection and derating.
High proficiency using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and benchtop power supplies and other basic lab equipment.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Security clearance at the Secret level (will require US Citizenship).
Ability to travel up to or less than 10%.

Desired Skills

Experience with troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis of printed wiring boards.
Experience guiding and reviewing the designs of entry-level hardware engineers.
Experience with analyzing and designing isolated and non-isolated DC/DC converters, switch-mode power supplies (SMPS), and Point-of-Load (POL) regulators.

Experience using component layout, board layout, and schematic capture tools.
Experience programing and utilizing programmable power supplies.
Knowledge of MIL-STD-704 and MIL-STD-461.
Knowledge of VITA specifications.
Experience with specifications writing and review, and tracking requirements through product lifecycle management tools to ensure full compliance with customer requirements.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
