Our work depends on a dynamic Chief Engineer joining our team to manage a core group of diverse and highly skilled IT support in Colorado Springs in addition to other sites around the US and three OCONUS sites. You will be a leader for our team in providing ITSM professional, administrative, technical, and management support for the Enterprise IT Solutions services based on industry best practices through the entire life cycle of each IT service in stable day-to-day operations, deployed operations, exercises, and contingencies.
HOW the Chief EngineerWILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Designs systems architecture for new or existing computer system
- Creates, plans, and configures highly complex engineering systems for optimal operations.
- Creates and engineers highly advanced systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end.
- Designs and engineers highly complex infrastructures including installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
- Creates and designs highly complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
- Performs continual maintenance and creates highly ingenious solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems.
- Provides critical insight and guidance for the preparation and maintenance of all documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.
- Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes.
- Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, model formulation, computer architecture analysis and design, and digital systems engineering - Invents innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency.
- Drives scalability and operability of supported systems/infrastructure
- Implements, manages, and enhances Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline tools.
- Participates in Agile ceremonies and sprints as appropriate.
- Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.
- Coach and provide guidance to less experienced professionals.
- Serve as a team or task lead.
- Recognized as an industry leader in systems engineering.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Required Experience:
- A solid enterprise IT, cyber, and engineering management background and experience
- Effectively manage IT staff of up to 15
- Proven ability to communicate with Government/military personnel at all levels; impart confidence in GDIT's commitment and ability to support this program.
- Proven ability to respond effectively to urgent requests, marshal resources, and support surge requirements.
- Ability to inspire an IT team; create professional working atmosphere, provide coaching, mentoring, tracking employee performance.
- Experience in DoD IT enterprise; understanding of DoD IT directives and guidelines.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

equired Technical Skills:
- Experience in managing or supporting fast-paced enterprise engineering teams and operations teams.
- Responsiveness to all levels of military and diverse customer base
- Experience in Cyber (RMF, IA), networks, systems engineering.
- Security certifications DoD Directive 8140.01/IAT Level 2 or higher
Education and Experience
- 15+ years of engineering experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher
Security Clearance Level:
- Must be US Citizen
- Active TS/SCI
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to coordinate and give presentations to executive and program leadership.
- Understand DISA architecture for Networking and Datacenter knowledge.
- Understand deployment and support of Hardware / Software
- Cybersecurity (Zero Trust) support and deployment / Upgrade
Preferred Skills:
- Current or previous experience with NORAD or other Cocom components
- Agile / Scrum, ITIL, Risk management

Salary and Benefit Information
The likely salary range for this position is $160,389 - $272,667. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
