Job Summary and Qualifications
The Cardiovascular Technician – CVL (CVT-CVL) is responsible for providing a safe and meaningful service to Cardiac Cath Lab and CVL patients. The CVT-CVL must be able to perform in a fast paced environment with a teamwork approach. Prioritizes and organizes patient flow to ensure best utilization of time. They must be familiar with all necessary equipment involved in performing assigned duties and be able to operate such equipment when needed. They must have knowledge of cardiac and vascular anatomy, hemodynamics, and sterile technique. The CVT-CVL responsibilities include proper patient set up, scrubbing, circulating, recording, maintenance of sterile technique, locating and use of all supplies, troubleshooting of clinical equipment. The CVT-CVL must have a good understanding of the entire scope of procedures performed within the Cardiac Cath and CVL space. Independent proficiency and full participation in departmental procedures and performance measures, including on call availability, is an expectation. The CVT-CVL establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments and Medical Staff. Makes technical assessments of image quality and monitors image quality, which meet or exceed established standards. They demonstrate competence when performing other related or licensed functions.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited program in Cardiovascular Technology or Radiology Technology required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification require
- Cardiovascular Technology Degree: RCIS registry required (for CVT program graduates only) CVT program graduate with no prior work experience has 12 months from hire date to obtain the RCIS certification; New hire/internal transfer Cardiovascular Tech with limited experience in a Cath Lab has 12 months from their hire date/transfer date to obtain the RCIS certification
- Radiology Technology Degree: Florida Radiology Technologist license is required; ARRT registry in Radiology Technology is required; ARRT registry in Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) or Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) is preferred
- Previous experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab preferred
