Job Summary and Qualifications
Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Informatics, the CPOE Coordinator is responsible for ensuring ongoing training, support and refinement of the Clinical Informatics and Meaningful Use initiatives, as well as additional support for clinical informatics applications throughout the facility. This individual participates in the company-wide community for computerized provider order entry (CPOE) and the electronic health record (EHR); works with their facility peers to ensure advanced clinical applications are well supported throughout the facility.
What you will do in this role:
- Works collaboratively with the Manager and Director of Clinical Informatics in planning, organization, implementation, and evaluation of new information technology products.
- Works collaboratively with the Manager and Director of Clinical Informatics in planning, organization, implementation, and evaluation of ongoing education for hospital staff.
- Rounds daily to offer informatics support to staff and providers.
- Assists with and facilitates informatics educational activities for all hospital departments based on identified learning needs.
- Provides in-services within the hospital for new applications or modifications to existing applications.
- Creates, grades, and records department assignments/in-services in Healthstream as appropriate.
- Keeps abreast of current changes and updates in Meditech and other ancillary systems.
- Communicates with providers and staff regarding current and upcoming changes in applications.
- Answers the department Helpline phone and addresses provider/staff concerns by providing the appropriate support.
- Researches issues to bring to resolution.
- Escalates unresolved issues to the Manager and/or Director of Clinical Informatics, or to IT as appropriate.
- Participates in Clinical Informatics Department and facility-wide Process Improvement activities.
- Shares and promotes the hospital’s Mission, Vision, and Values: supports the Ethics & Compliance Program.
- Completes other special projects as assigned.
What qualifications you will need:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
