Darey Brands has two primary locations, in Sebastopol, CA and Turlock, CA, with approximately 130 employees across both sites. Darey Brands is wholly owned by Emmi Group. Job Overview:
The Darey Brands Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator is responsible for the purchase of production materials and supplies, other supplies and maintains raw materials and production inventories at the appropriate level. The Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator interacts with other Managers and Supervisors and reports directly to the VP of Procurement & IT.
Objectives:
· Purchase materials and supplies to ensure that adequate inventory is kept meeting the demands of production and plant needs.
· Purchase ingredients from approved and certified sources.
· Ensure purchase orders comply with applicable specifications.
· Continuously analyze systems and procedures for possible improvements.
· Constantly strive for self-improvement and education to help the department.
· Maintain excellence at every level.
· Create and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Primary Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to the following:
Purchasing:
· Researches, secures and analyzes quotations, negotiates prices and terms with suppliers. Recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery competitiveness.
· Consistently monitors packaging and ingredient costs.
· Correctly document and record any price changes.
· Closely works with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics, inventory control and management.
· Uses inventory data and predicted production schedule places orders of raw materials/ingredients and packaging supplies.
· Procures other plant supplies and materials (such as janitorial supplies, coffee and creamer for all on-site coffee machines, employee boots, keys for lockers, etc.) to maintain adequate inventory levels.
· Accurately matches vendor invoices to corresponding packing slips. Reviews and approves vendor invoices for price, quantity, etc. and submits to Finance for processing.
Receiving:
· Partners on receiving raw materials/ingredients, packaging supplies and other plant supplies from vendor trucks.
· Properly stores and organizes all incoming shipments in FIFO (first in first out) order.
· Completes related documentation and paperwork for packaging in the receipt binder.
· Stores and rotates materials and supplies in FIFO order, separating Organic from Conventional.
· Prepare weekly warehouse inventory of all packaging, ingredients and supplies.
· Reviews and reports Coconut Grove inventory counts to customer.
· Performs inventory count for outside vendor as required (i.e. Airlite Plastic) for vendor billing purposes.
· Performs tracking and traceability for ingredients, packaging and supplies. Completes related documentation and paperwork accurately and timely.
Other:
· Serves as Sustainability leader in Sebastopol facility by coordinating regular sustainability meetings and drives initiatives.
· Owns Emmi’s Sustainability KPIs by managing key sustainability initiatives.
· Owns sustainability reporting in Magellan and any other reporting needs.
· Oversees the Company’s pest control program, completes any required paperwork.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 Years proven experience as a receiving and inventory clerk or similar position.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with ERP Software
- Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work with internal and external partners.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment, sense of urgency.
- Ability to handle time sensitive and critical materials.
- Working knowledge of computer software for entering and maintaining data
- Experience with perishable inventory a PLUS!
- Spanish language skills a PLUS!

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
