Job Summary and Qualifications
- Manages and conducts case cost analysis, independent analyses, assist hospital administrators and Perioperative Leadership with requested reports and also identify and manage cost savings opportunities.
- Will work with OR Scheduler and act as a resource for surgery scheduling functions and applications.
- Will be utilized as a scrub technician as needed in the department.
- Position requires strong written and communication skills to contact surgical Reps needed for cases and materials.
- Maintain surgical implant processes and database in compliance with regulatory bodies.
- Coordinates the installation, education, and support of existing and future information systems in Perioperative Services.
- Works closely with Supply Chain Director, Resource Coordinator and Director implement, monitor and renew OR contracts.
- Reviewing upcoming surgery schedules to insure all outside implants, instruments, and equipment needs for a procedure are available as requested.
- Prepares and conducts the yearly audit of regulatory compliance with Surgical Service inventory.
- Responsible for ordering all routine and special order supplies as needed in the OR.
- Works closely with Supply Chain and OR Analyst to order new/current products accounted for in SMART system.
- Responsible for tissue/implant inventory as well as maintaining documents for regulatory agencies.
- Properly keeps up with date and expiration of PAR level.
What qualifications you will need:
- High School Diploma or GED - required
- Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program or equivalent military training
- Certified Surgical Technologist - preferred
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association or CPR through American Red Cross
EXPERIENCE:
- Must have at least one year of experience with inventory and supply chain needs.
- Must have knowledge of procedures, implant, instrument and equipment needs.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- For Surgical Scrub Tech responsibilities, must have minimum 2 years as Surgical Technologist.
