F135 Sustainment is seeking a Roving Field Service Engineer (FSE) to support both CONUS and OCONUS F-35 sites.
What You Will Do:
- Backfill other FSEs located globally on short notice while adapting quickly to local processes and standards with the ability to travel for periods of time up to 4 months to support customer detachments and operational deployments. Needs to be on-call and able to depart with 48hrs notice. Domestic and International Travel, as well as Shipboard Operations are required and part of the team concept.
- Position requires a minimum of 70% Travel with the ability to rotate first, second and third shift schedules as required to meet customer support and team objectives.
- Coordinate F135 propulsion system maintenance activities with the PW team, flight line operating areas, squadron, and Lockheed Martin maintenance operating areas.
- Advise and assist the Customer in performance of F135 propulsion system maintenance, ensuring activities are performed IAW technical data and safe engine operation and maintenance procedures. Activities include fault isolation/troubleshooting and F135 repair actions consistent with the F135 Unit Level Maintenance Concept.
- Use initiative and judgment to identify problems, conduct investigations to determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- B.A./B.S. in an engineering or technical field, other fields of study with aircraft/jet engine experience will be considered. Or, an A.S/A.A.S may be suitable with a minimum of 20 years’ aviation experience. A minimum of 8 years with aircraft/jet engine experience is required.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain multiple visas and work permits.
- Position requires a minimum of 70% Travel - must be able to commute to airport regularly.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Proven interpersonal, leadership and teaming abilities
- Language skills are a plus
- Familiarity with ACE tools and processes.
- Experience in F-35/F135 Production, Flight Test, CSE, Maintenance, and/or Program Management
- Prior military service in maintenance and/or logistics

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
