Equitable is looking for an accomplished and proactive Digital Operations Lead to join our Employee Benefits team. The Digital Operations Lead will manage a team consisting of business operations members and consultants in support of the growing Equitable Employee Benefits EDI & API benefits technology connected business.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Operations lead and oversight of the Employee Benefits Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) team
- Management of internal and consultant staff that augments the EDI Team
- Strategic analysis of automation opportunities to differentiate Equitable EDI including engagement in the development and implementation of benefit administration platform API technology
- Responsible for monitoring and managing our data quality on our files to and from our strategic partners.
- Participate in Industry standards meetings and groups on EDI/834 and LIMRA LDEx files.
- This individual will need to be very effective at communicating with external brokers, Advisors, our Account Management and Sales Rep teams, IT, and other Employee Benefits team members in regard to the questions or issues that may arise with EDI processing with strategic partner implementations.
- Production EDI Ownership (including meeting client SLA’s and capacity planning)
- Build relationships with ben admin partners and understand their system capabilities, support models, and limitations
- Field Support for client meetings (live demonstrations, technology education, explanation of capabilities)
- ROI Analysis on all future integrations
- Drive & coordinate deliverables between internal and external resources
- Ongoing examination of existing partner relationships to find opportunities for escalation, contract development, and profitability
- Evaluate the operational and technical impact of partner integration to determine the organizational and third-party partner resources required to develop new capabilities
- Support the roll-out of new projects and products providing input on partner capabilities and limitations
- Monitor the performance of the partnership relative to partnership specific objectives
The base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Business Operations experience in Employee Benefits/Insurance/Financial Services or similar industry
- 5+ years EDI, Exchange, Benefits Administration experience
- 2+ years of people leadership/management/team lead experience
- Experience in the development and implementation of Benefit Administration API technology a strong plus
- Prior people leader/team lead experience
- Demonstrated success in problem framing, analytical focus from a data driven mindset
- Possesses excellent organizational and planning abilities, effectively managing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously

- Excellent written/verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical personnel, external vendors, brokers, and agents strongly desired

Participates in the improvement of a specific aspect of the customer experience. Reviews competitor products to seek opportunities for differentiation in the eyes of the customer.

Listens to feedback without defensiveness and uses it for own communication effectiveness. Makes oral presentations and writes reports needed for own work. Avoids technical jargon when inappropriate. Planning: Produces, collates, and reports capacity-related measurements to examine application service levels. Analyzes capacity data and identifies common capacity problems or bottlenecks. Assesses the relationship between capacity, performance, and service level requirements. Works with developers and users to plan resource requirements for networks or systems under development. Applies appropriate tools and methods for capacity planning & performance management of applications.
