Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Mid-Level Airspace Test Engineer for the TMAS 2 96 CTG Task Order, supporting the 45 TS / TGAA.
Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Airspace Test Engineer on the Kessel Run (KR) Air Operations Center Block 20 test team to provide test engineering support and expertise. This position supports the 96 Cyberspace Test Group (96 CTG), 45 Test Squadron, Air Ops Command and Control (C2) Test Flight at Eglin AFB, FL. Kessel Run is the digital transformation of various programs of record. Specifically, KR rapidly delivers capabilities through Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) process and 45 TS tests the resultant capabilities on a continuous basis. This position supports the digital transformation of the Air Operations Center (AOC) Weapon System (WS) Block 10 Modernization Program through testing Airspace as well as other C2 applications.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field and 3 – 10 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be substituted for education
- Relevant experience in one of the following: Air Operations Center (AOC) Airspace Management Team or Air Traffic Controller
- Experience creating, producing and disseminating airspace control order (ACO)
- Prior experience in air traffic control/management
- Demonstrated effective work on a team and lead/direct the work of others
- Proficiency in the use and integration of MS Office applications
- Must be able to effectively communicate orally and possess technical writing skills
- Must be able to obtain/maintain Secret clearance - US Citizenship required
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Prior experience or knowledge on AOC Weapon System applications with the competency to learn other C2 systems
- Familiar with the AOC Combat Plans division, teams, and processes, along with the software applications that support those processes
- Familiar with creating an airspace control plan (ACP)
- Understanding of developmental test and evaluation processes, specifically - acquisition program development and detailed knowledge of Air Force C2 test methodologies including AFI 99-103. Familiarity with Design of Experiments
- AGILE Software Development testing. AGILE test design, execution and reporting as part of DevOps and continuous testing
- Ability to interface with prime contractors developing the system under test (SUT) regarding test objectives, schedules, budgets, and methods of test
RESPONSIBILITIES
This position requires a highly motivated individual with experience in airspace management. Responsibilities include:
- Providing airspace technical leadership and frequently serve as the technical advisor for development testing of airspace applications
- Coordinating with test team members on matters concerning ACO development, production and dissemination
- Executing the development, generation, and dissemination of the ACO using the system under test
- Providing inputs on airspace considerations for ATO development and execution
- Conducting data analysis and apply knowledge of engineering technology. These tasks include test and evaluation, support, logistics, sustainment, operations analyses, technical studies, and various analyses/support activities including program/system security
- Assisting in the development of test objectives/criteria, performance measures, test phase entry/exit criteria, analysis of design constraints, functional capabilities, and metrics
- Preparing, executing, reviewing, and analyzing test plans, procedures, metrics, and reports throughout the software development lifecycle
- Supporting and in some cases leading Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E), Operational Test (OT), Force Development Evaluation (FDE), Risk Reduction Testing (RRT) and certification for test readiness. Identify deficiencies, verify compliance with specifications and standards, and assess stability of various system configurations
- Coordinating schedules, pre-and post-test activities, logistics of test planning, and test results
- Supporting senior engineers when interacting with System Program Offices, other military services, and development contractors
