HOW A SR. VMWARE SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Administer enterprise VMware-based virtualization infrastructures covering vCenter ESXi environments version 6.0 and later.

Install, configure, and integrate servers associated with a VMware virtual infrastructure.

Monitor, perform backups, troubleshooting and problem resolution for servers associated with a VMware virtual infrastructure.

Follow STIG and patch procedures to maintain the system.

Develop Test plans based on the design requirements. Execute tests within the approved labs.

Develop implementation plans, back-out procedures, and success criteria. Plan and execute systems integration in conjunction with OED.

Analyze network traffic flow and infrastructure capacity assisting in the integration to the GEF platform.

Design, plan, implement, and administer vSphere, vRealize Operations (vRO), vRealize Automation (vRA), vRealize Business (vRB).

Support multiple services such as NetOps, Data Center, networking, GEF planform, cybersecurity, configuration management, hardware and software support, operating systems, virtualization, Blade Server, SQL, Oracle database services, storage, backup, Directory Services, and Thin and Zero Client.

Support and troubleshoot NSX.

Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

Develop and implement testing strategies and document results.

Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 incident management.

Perform configuration, change, and release management.

Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members.

Build highly available server clusters in a vSphere environment.
-
Build and configuring virtual networks.
-
Create and maintain VM templates used for rapid deployment of virtual machines.
-
Assist with the coordination and implementation of hardware maintenance, upgrades, repairs, or replacements supporting the virtualization infrastructure.

Provide advice and training to end-users.
-
Participate in special projects as required.

Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

Evaluate vendor products.

Ability to support shift work 7x24x365.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, plus 3+ yrs relevant experience
- Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT Level II AND Computing environment certification in VMware (VCP-DCV), Cisco (CCNP-DC), or similar technology within 6 months of hire
- Required Technical Skills: VMWare (or equivalent virtualization technologies), Cisco Flexpod, or Network Attached Storage systems
- Security Clearance Level: The ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret security clearance
- Required Skills and Abilities: leadership, troubleshooting
- Location: On Customer Site, Ft. Huachuca

The likely salary range for this position is $81,600 - $110,400. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
