Job Summary and Qualifications
At Frisbie Memorial Hospital, we provide a safe and therapeutic inpatient setting for seniors. Our nurses treat patients with a wide range of mental health concerns including, but not limited to Alzheimer's disease, anxiety, behavioral conditions, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, daily life coping issues, dementia, depression, emotional difficulties, instability concerns and PTSD. In addition to being responsible for adhering to the hospital's Standards of Patient Care to deliver safe and quality patient care, our RN team will:
What you will do in this role:
- Perform all treatments and procedures as outlined in the Standards Manual and applicable regulatory and professional entities/ guidelines, standards, protocols and procedures within the scope of RN practice
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on the physical ability, intellectual development, psychosocial, education and safety needs of the geriatric patient
- Perform initial intake assessments and evaluate an overall plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the patient and the family
- Provide patient education to patient/family minimally regarding the hospitalization disease process and medications
- Other tasks as assigned
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Hampshire or a compact state
- Active BLS
- Active Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Certification within 90 days
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high stress work environment
- Ability to maintain customer focused interpersonal communication skills and patient confidentiality
- Knowledge of psychiatric nursing principles and behavioral health diagnoses/clinical treatment modalities preferred
