This position is eligible for remote work and may be located anywhere within the US excluding AK, HI and U.S. territories, however if you live within the 50 miles radius of a campus you will be required to work at a FedEx campus location several times per week.
Develops, operationalizes and executes FedEx’s digital and transportation strategy for 3rd party and indirect shipping providers and platforms. The 3rd party ecosystem is inclusive of shipping technologies, ecommerce platforms and online marketplaces. The Managing Director will work closely with cross-functional teams—including Transportation and Digital Sales, Marketing, Product Development and Engineering. MD will ensure our 3rd party solutions meet and exceed customer needs while supporting broader organizational objectives and driving revenue growth. This position is pivotal in guiding the strategic commercial vision, fostering innovation, and ensuring successful execution to maintain FedEx’s leadership in a competitive market.
Essential Functions
- Strategy Development
- Directs, organizes, develops, plans and evaluates the FedEx marketing policies and activities including market analysis, programs, technology implementation, pricing, and product development to meet the organization's objectives.
- Operational Execution
- Develops and executes commercialization strategy for 3rd Party digital product portfolio; partnering with the 3rdParty product development and engineering teams
- Leads team of 3rd party channel managers
- Partners with Sales executives to develop the go to market strategy for ecommerce platforms and online marketplaces
- Team Management and Development
- Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing 3rd party team.
- Establish clear goals, roles, and responsibilities to maximize individual and team performance.
- Foster a culture of innovation, learning, and continuous improvement within the commercial organization.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
- Clearly articulate commercial strategies, priorities, and progress to executive leadership
- Engage with customers and external partners to negotiate deals, outline partnerships and identify opportunities for collaboration.
- Advocate for the commercial vision across all levels of the organization, aligning cross-departmental efforts.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred.
Minimum Experience
- 10+ years of experience in general management (GM), strategy and operations, or equivalent roles, with at least 5+ years in a leadership capacity.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Leadership experience at a 3rd party shipping platform, shipping technology provider or marketplace
- Demonstrated ability to use analytics and research for informed decision-making
- Strong selling and negotiating skills to develop partnership agreements
- Strong communication and storytelling skills to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels
