Leidos is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead cutting-edge engineering efforts within the Undersea Systems Division. This role is a unique opportunity to support underwater vehicle systems, maritime sensors, subsea telemetry, and ISR solutions in support of critical defense and national security missions.
You'll be an engineer supporting a multidisciplinary team developing and supporting customers with advanced maritime technologies, from production processes to prototype design.
Leidos’ Undersea Systems Division is a recognized leader in undersea technologies, delivering innovative, mission-critical solutions across sensor networks, unmanned systems, and tactical platforms. We’re known for achieving “industry firsts” in the most challenging maritime domains, as well as supporting well-developed processes and procedures to support excellence in execution for our customers.
Join us and be part of a world-class team delivering unmatched solutions for today's most pressing maritime missions.
Why Join Us?
· Make a Mission Impact: See your work directly contribute to U.S. maritime dominance by delivering and sustaining critical systems the warfighter depends on.

· Build Capability That Lasts: Help improve how we produce, support, upgrade, and sustain maritime systems throughout their operational lifecycle.
What You’ll Do
· Provide hands-on mechanical engineering support for the production, integration, testing, and sustainment of complex maritime systems.
· Resolve production and field issues through technical investigation, root-cause analysis, and implementation of practical engineering solutions.
· Improve product designs for manufacturability, reliability, maintainability, and cost while maintaining system performance and mission requirements.
· Develop and maintain mechanical drawings, specifications, bills of material, work instructions, and other technical documentation needed to support production.
· Work closely with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, technicians, and suppliers to address material, component, and assembly challenges.
· Support configuration changes, obsolescence management, component substitutions, repairs, and upgrades throughout the product lifecycle.
· Participate in system integration, test, troubleshooting, and disposition of nonconforming hardware to keep production and delivery on track.
· Provide engineering support for fielded systems, helping ensure delivered products remain reliable, supportable, and mission ready.
