Your Impact
The primary purpose of this role is to support the Ocean Transportation operations of Lowe’s (the fourth largest importer in the United States) collect international freight program through ocean carrier and 3PL contract management. Provides strategic analysis and assessment of Carrier Performance and KPIs. Lead optimization of Ocean Transportation capacity, cost, and service level performance. Represent Lowe's Transportation in meetings and conference calls with carriers, vendors, and various internal departments regarding Transportation operations.
What you will do
• Support Ocean Carrier and 3PL contract management including procurement, contracting, and performance management activities
• Conducts strategic analysis of demand forecasts and capacity commitments to optimize transportation utilization, performance, and cost
• Develop KPI reporting to monitor performance and action SLA issues
• Identify forecasted capacity needs and work with external service providers to secure adequate capacity
• Develop new reporting leveraging internal and external data repositories including use of PowerBI
• Create and maintain routing guide to ensure freight is routed in most efficient and cost effective manner
• Analyze transit time performance and identify opportunities to reduce cycle times while supporting in-stock rates
• Demonstrates and fosters an environment of continuous improvement
• Partner with internal stakeholders on new merchandise programs to ensure adequate space protection is available
• Ability to track shipments via internal and external systems as needed
• Subject matter expert for Lowe’s air freight program
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree Business Administration or related field; 3 years' experience in Supply Chain/Logistics or related field
• Experienced in carrier contract management
• Experience with data analysis and/or statistical work
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree Supply Chain Management / Logistics, Transportation, or related field
• 4 years Supply Chain/Logistics; experience managing carrier or supplier relationships
• Experience working with an importer, freight forwarder, and/or ocean carrier
