We’re looking for an experienced Communications Specialist like you, who is ready to grow and willing to win for the client and live our mission every day. Here, you’ll advance your consulting skills to design, develop, produce, and consult on a variety of internal and external communication materials and media that support the defense community.
As a Communications Specialist on our team, you’ll closely impact the development of creative solutions to complex problems. Your self-guided yet collaborative spirit will shape and nurture relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients to communicate technical concepts and facilitate strategic communication throughout the organization.
As a collaborator on all aspects of oral and written communications, you’ll author reports, briefs, position papers, and technical summaries. Your creative-thinking and business-oriented mindset will guide your client to inform key audiences through words, images, and sound with tools like Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and Adobe Creative Cloud applications and project management software.

You Have:
3+ years of experience with technical writing, presentation design, and editing technical reports or policy language
Experience with developing communications strategies for senior leaders and creating a full suite of communications materials to execute their vision
Experience with communications for the DoD or government agencies
Experience with using Microsoft Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint
Knowledge of government consulting, client service, outlining desired outcomes, developing project management plans, and helping clients achieve their objectives
Ability to work with senior leaders, respond to rapidly changing priorities, pay strict attention to detail, and adapt writing style to meet varying needs of stakeholders at varying levels
Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of experience in Strategic communications, public affairs, and or graphic design
Nice If You Have:
Experience with leading communications efforts for DoD Research and Development Programs, systems engineering, microelectronics, or engineering or emerging technology fields
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
Ability to translate complex ideas and concepts into professional communications products
Ability to work as a self-starter in a fast-paced environment and to multi-task
Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including developing briefings and presenting them to internal and external audiences
Master's degree
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
