Leidos Defense Systems., is seeking a talented Entry Level Mechanical Engineer for its hypersonics line of business. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. The selected candidate will support the Common Hypersonic Glide Body program (C-HGB). The C-HGB is the Army’s #1 priority for strategic weapons capability for long-range precision fires and will counter and gain a lead on our adversaries' technological advances in this field, come join us in this exciting, cutting-edge field.
Primary Responsibilities
The selected candidate will serve as an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer with a primary duty of creating technical data package artifacts (drawings and documents) as well as involvement in production activities. Additional responsibilities are creation of Bill of Materials, beginning levels of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, and reviewing Production Work Instructions. The individual must be a self-starter with excellent communication and organization, contribute to inter-disciplinary teams to solving challenging technical problems, and understand various manufacturing processes.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors’ Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET accredited school and less than 2 years of experience.
- Experience with CAD programs (Creo, Catia, AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Able to read, interpret, and generate engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within the organization.
- Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance. (Must be US Citizen)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior work in DoD Missile, Reentry Vehicle, or Hypersonics fields.
- Prior work creating detailed engineering drawings using industry-standard software.
- Ability to perform bolt analysis and basic tolerance stack up analyses.
- Experience working rapidly changing development programs.

Pay Range $53,950.00 - $97,525.00
