The Strategic Division (SD) supports high-reliability organizations including Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, and the Department of Energy (DOE), among others. Our support across our client base is expanding rapidly and encompasses important services, such as data analytics and visualization, threat analysis, risk management, modeling and simulation, cost estimating, earned value management, program management, system engineering, independent evaluation, and High Consequence Event prevention.
The Surety Programs Group (SPG) supports government and private sector management of complex safety, security, and reliability programs for high consequence operations. SPG delivers industry-leading, innovative, and value-added services such as data analytics and visualization, threat analysis, risk management, modeling and simulation, program management, system engineering, independent evaluation, and High Consequence Event prevention to help our clients understand and mitigate mission risks spanning physical, cyber, and human domains. SPG is hiring now for a Weapons Systems Engineer.
Responsibilities:
The Engineer will lead system safety assessments for DoD clients per MIL-STD-882E. They will provide independent safety evaluation of engineering change requests and develop safety plans, processes, procedures, schedules, and policy documents. They will also lead safety working groups and independent review teams. In addition, the Engineer will provide meeting support and interface with DoD clients and stakeholders, virtually and in-person, to help set priorities. They will also mentor coworkers.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering field with > 5 years experience in System Safety Engineering.
- Ability to achieve and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance (must be U.S. citizen).
- Capable of conducting independent and team based work with strong interpersonal skills.
- Competent in Microsoft office to include Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in a techincal field and >10 years experience with Systems Safety Engineering and Management.
- Technical experience with DoD weapons systems and/or Aerospace systems.
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance.
- Nuclear Weapon System Safety experience, per DoDM 3150.02, and/or Weapons Systems Explosives Safety Review Board experience.
