Job Summary
Perform electrical and mechanical installation and repairs.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)
- Diagnose and repair electrical component malfunctions
- Perform electrical and mechanical repairs to pier equipment such as lighting and heating, including both low voltage and high voltage repairs
- Install and maintain electrical wiring and equipment such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), electrical equipment 12VDC to 13,000VAC, generators, switchboards, meters, lighting systems, electric welding machines, weighing and scale systems, heating/air-conditioning units, motor control systems and various drive unit transformersMiscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager
Pay Rate
$41.55/hour full rate
Training
You will attend paid training, which could be out of town. CSX will pay for travel and lodging as required by collective bargaining agreement.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 18 years of age or older
- Valid Driver's License
- Four years of experience working as an electrician in an industrial environment
- Experience with blue print/schematic reading
- One year experience in interpreting schematics and diagrams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining 480 volt motor starter circuits
- Journeyman Electrician
- Master Electrician
Physical Requirements
- Heavy work, lifting up to 70 pounds occasionally and up to 100 pounds on a rare basis
- Stoop/bend/kneel/crouch/crawl/balance/climb
- Demonstrate auditory and visual acuity/tracking/inspection
