Uses analytical skills and knowledge of the Interline Settlement System (ISS), QRT (Q-Rate), REN (Rate Electronic Data Interchange Network), and Automated Waybilling System (AWS) to analyze and implement current and future business needs. Works on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and leads enhancements of the ISS, QRT, REN, and AWS, which includes working closely with Technology to ensure business needs are met. Develops requirements, test cases, and performs user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure enhancements are properly implemented. Owns accountability and status of project and timelines ensuring successful project implementation. Provides ongoing ISS, QRT, and AWS support to Technology and other business partners to ensure needs are met. Root causes suspense, rating, and division errors. Works with internal customers and rail partners to assist in resolving recurring issues. Conducts ISS certifications. Represent CSX on Association of American Railroads (AAR) working committees.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities
- Analyze data and perform root cause analysis on suspended and incorrectly rated bills involving research in the following systems: AWS (Automated Waybilling System), Interline, ISS (Interline Settlement System), PRISM, QRT (Q-Rate), ShipCSX, SIMS (Shipment Information Management System)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather info, develop requirements, and evaluate output with regards to programming enhancements and new processes
- Develop test cases, perform user acceptance testing (UAT), and validate test results
- Collect, analyze, and summarize data to uncover trends
- Report on common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations for enhancements
- Manage and support rate application processes for billing and collections
- Work with internal/external customers and other railroads to resolve rate and division differences
- Maintain J-Rules and revenue related code sets within SIMS and Mainframe
- Works with internal and external customers to assist in resolving recurring rating system issues
- Participate on various Association of American Railroads/Railinc committees
- Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
- 2 or more years of experience in Transportation and/or railroad industry
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate Degree
- 3 or more years of experience in Transportation and/or railroad industry

- Strong knowledge of ISS, Q-Rate, REN, AWS, YES, ShipCSX, EDI Archive, SIMS
