Role overview
Build project controls that reflect the realities of industrial development in Brazil. Integrate engineering, procurement, approvals, construction and commissioning with cost, changes, risks and progress reporting. Help the client understand local lead times and delivery constraints so decisions are based on achievable plans.
Key responsibilities
• Develop the integrated master schedule, reporting calendar, progress-measurement rules and project controls procedures.
• Validate contractor schedules, critical paths, local procurement lead times, approval dependencies, resource assumptions and milestone forecasts.
• Maintain look-ahead plans, progress dashboards and variance analyses; work with delivery leads on recovery scenarios.
• Review the client’s change-control register and assess time and cost implications before decisions are presented for approval.
• Review commitments, forecasts, cost trends and payment milestones with the client’s commercial and finance teams.
• Maintain risk and opportunity registers, connect mitigation actions to the schedule and monitor exposure over time.
• Advise on tender schedules, scope packaging, local market capacity, unit prices and bidder assumptions with commercial specialists.
• Coordinate the information needed for daily, weekly and monthly progress reports with construction, HSE, design and document control.
• Audit reported progress and supporting evidence, identify data gaps and escalate forecasts that no longer reflect site conditions.
• Review the schedule and cost evidence supporting variations and claims; present recommendations for the client’s decision.
Required qualifications
• Degree in engineering, construction management, project management or a related discipline.
• Approximately 10 years or more in planning and project controls for large construction or industrial capital projects.

• Experience integrating engineering, Brazilian permitting and procurement lead times, site construction and commissioning milestones.
• Proficiency with a major scheduling platform and spreadsheet-based analysis and reporting.
• Professional fluency in Portuguese and English, including written management reports.
• Ability to travel regularly to the project site in Espírito Santo.
Preferred qualifications
