- Strong programming skills in Java, Go, C++, Python, or a similar language.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, fault tolerance, and high-availability architectures.
- Significant experience designing and operating large-scale, mission-critical cloud services.
- Strong experience with REST APIs, microservices, cloud architectures, CI/CD, and automated testing.
- Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, application security, and secure software development.
- Experience troubleshooting complex production systems and driving reliability and performance improvements.
- Understanding of security and compliance requirements such as FedRAMP and PCI DSS.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems.
- Experience operating Tier-0 or similarly critical services with stringent availability requirements.
- Experience with OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with observability, SLOs, distributed tracing, and reliability engineering.
- Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM, JWT, or related identity standards.
- Experience with applied cryptography.
- Familiarity with emerging identity models for AI agents, machine identities, delegation, and agentic systems.
Expectations
- Own the technical direction and long-term health of critical IAM capabilities.
- Solve complex and ambiguous problems spanning multiple systems and teams.
- Make sound architectural decisions balancing security, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Drive Tier-0 service availability and reliability through resilient architecture and operational excellence.
- Lead complex initiatives from architecture through production operation.
- Anticipate technical and operational risks and drive solutions proactively.
- Help define identity and authorization architectures for the emerging agentic ecosystem.
- Influence technical decisions across teams and mentor other engineers.
- Remain hands-on through implementation, prototyping, debugging, and technical reviews.
