Job Summary and Qualifications
The Compliance Operations Specialist serves as a strategic execution partner to the SVP/Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer (CECO) and supports the effectiveness of the enterprise Compliance function across Ethics & Compliance, Privacy, Culture & Values, and Regulatory Compliance. The role combines sophisticated project and program management, executive-office support, policy governance, analytical and paralegal-style support, and operational discipline to advance high-priority compliance initiatives from concept through implementation. Working across multiple subject-matter teams and business functions, the Specialist translates strategic priorities into structured workplans, drives accountability for deliverables and decisions, prepares executive-ready materials, strengthens governance processes, and develops scalable tools and processes that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Compliance program. This position is designed for a high-performing professional who can operate with discretion and increasing independence in a complex, highly regulated healthcare environment and who has the capability to grow into broader roles within the Compliance organization over time.
What you will do in this role:
-Serve as a strategic execution partner to the SVP/CECO, helping translate enterprise compliance priorities into clear project plans, milestones, ownership, decision points, and measurable outcomes.
- Lead or coordinate cross-functional compliance projects
- Manage assigned strategic initiatives from scoping through implementation, including development of workplans, timelines, governance structures, decision records, and status reporting.
- Anticipate execution risks, dependencies, and barriers; escalate issues appropriately and recommend practical solutions to maintain momentum and accountability.
- Establish and maintain a portfolio-level view of major Compliance initiatives, deadlines, commitments, and interdependencies, enabling the CECO and Compliance leadership team to prioritize resources and monitor execution.
- Develop executive-ready briefings, presentations, dashboards, talking points, memoranda, and decision materials for the CECO, senior leadership, management committees, and other governance forums.
- Support the operating cadence of the Compliance leadership team and key governance bodies, including agenda development, pre-read preparation, meeting materials, facilitation support, documentation of decisions and action items, and disciplined follow-through.
- Coordinate preparation for significant leadership, committee, board, or enterprise meetings by synthesizing complex information from multiple sources into concise, accurate, and decision-oriented materials.
- Support Policy exception management, including tracking, initial guidance and standardization.
- Perform legal and regulatory research, document review/summaries, and other paralegal-style support for selected compliance matters under the direction of the CECO.
- Gather, organize, validate, and synthesize information needed to evaluate compliance issues, strategic initiatives, regulatory developments, or program effectiveness; identify gaps and follow up with stakeholders to obtain complete and reliable information.
- Support the development, implementation, and tracking of annual and multi-year Compliance workplans, risk mitigation activities, program enhancements, and other commitments arising from assessments, audits, investigations, regulatory changes, or leadership priorities.
- Analyze processes and workflows across the Compliance function and recommend opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, or otherwise improve operational effectiveness and control.
- Conduct benchmarking and targeted research on compliance program practices, emerging risks, regulatory expectations, and operational approaches; synthesize findings and implications for leadership consideration.
- Draft and edit high-quality written communications, executive summaries, project updates, policies, procedures, guidance, presentations, and other materials for internal audiences.
- Build trusted relationships across the organization and influence progress without direct authority, using sound judgment, clarity of communication, and strong follow-through.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with a high degree of discretion, professionalism, and integrity.
- Promote a culture of ethics, accountability, transparency, and compliance with the organization's Code of Conduct, policies, mission, and values.
- Perform other strategic, operational, analytical, and project-based responsibilities as assigned by the SVP/CECO.
What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelor's degree required; degree in business, healthcare administration, public policy, legal studies, compliance, communications, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in compliance, legal, regulatory, healthcare, project/program management, corporate operations, consulting, or a related environment preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects or workstreams involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and executive-level visibility.
- Experience in healthcare or another highly regulated industry strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting a legal, compliance, risk, privacy, regulatory, or executive leadership function is preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of relevant education and experience may be considered consistent with company policy.
