Job Summary:
The Specialist Resource Optimization Operations supports the PI Resource Optimization Operations team by bringing operational, financial, and business-unit expertise to enterprise value creation work. This role helps bridge analytics and real-world execution by validating opportunities, assessing operational feasibility, identifying barriers, and translating insights into practical actions that can be adopted by corporate, division, facility, and shared services leaders.
The role partners with internal subject matter experts, corporate functions, field operators, Finance, HR, and Performance Improvement leaders to support value creation opportunities across labor management, corporate overhead, productivity, fixed cost, spans and layers, requisition governance, and operational redesign.
Responsibilities:
- Supports operational validation of enterprise value creation opportunities identified by PI & Finance.
- Conducts operational assessments to evaluate feasibility, implementation complexity, operational risk, dependencies, and expected impact of identified opportunities.
- Applies operational knowledge and analysis to test assumptions, refine opportunity sizing, and identify practical execution considerations.
- Supports clean-sheet labor and organizational design reviews across corporate functions and targeted business areas.
- Identifies operational best practices across high-performing functions, facilities, and business units and evaluates opportunities for replication in lower-performing areas.
- Analyzes current workflows, staffing models, spans and layers, role design, productivity practices, and fixed-cost structures to identify improvement opportunities.
- Provides analysis and operational insights to support organizational design, redundancy assessments, requisition and backfill reviews, and labor governance processes in partnership with HR and business leaders.
- Develops data-supported findings and recommendations that consider financial impact, operational continuity, colleague considerations, and execution feasibility.
- Prepares operational findings, risks, dependencies, and implementation considerations to support Corporate LMAT governance and senior leader review.
- Supports working sessions with business owners to clarify opportunity scope, action plans, timing, ownership, and expected outcomes.
- Supports the transition of approved initiatives to business leaders and tracks early execution progress, risks, and identified issues.
- Maintains effective working relationships with operators, Finance, HR, and corporate functional partners to support value creation initiatives.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, Operations, Nursing, Engineering, Analytics, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare operations, performance improvement, finance, labor management, shared services, analytics, consulting, or enterprise transformation
- Experience supporting operational improvement, productivity, labor management, cost reduction, organizational redesign, or value creation initiatives
- Experience partnering with operators, finance teams, HR partners, and/or corporate functional leaders
- Experience translating analysis into practical, operationally feasible action plans
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Operations, Analytics, or related field
- Hospital, corporate healthcare, shared services, or health system experience
- Prior experience in operations, finance, service line, performance improvement, project management, or corporate support functions
